Andhra Mutton Curry Recipe – Spicy South Indian Style

Ingredients:
- 500g mutton (bone-in)
- 2 large onions (sliced)
- 2 tomatoes (chopped)
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 3 green chilies (slit)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Whole spices: 1 bay leaf, 3 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, 2 cardamoms
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add whole spices and sauté until fragrant.
- Add sliced onions and sauté till golden brown.
- Mix in ginger garlic paste and green chilies. Cook until raw smell disappears.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook till mushy.
- Add turmeric, chili, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the mutton pieces and sauté well until coated with masala.
- Pour 1 cup water, close the lid, and pressure cook for 4–5 whistles.
- Once pressure releases, open and check consistency. Add black pepper and garam masala. Simmer for 5 mins uncovered.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve with hot rice, chapati, or parotta. This spicy curry is perfect for weekends or special occasions.
